Invitation to Verge: a student arts and politics festival

Georgetown University’s Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics (The Lab), an initiative to humanize performance through politics, presents their very first student festival on arts and politics, Verge, held virtually in conjunction with the Student Fellows program, this spring, May 8-9. This inaugural fellowship functions as a space for creative work and critical conversations at the intersection of arts and politics. The Lab believes in the power of gathering and we hope you can enjoy us for the first iteration of Verge.

This festival will bring together youth interested in the intersection of politics and the arts, featuring conversations on specific topics in the field, live performances and films from our student fellows, and online pieces. Projects range from plays about immigration, gender, and teeth, films about Covid and climate. The collaborative conversations will center young voices in discussions of satire, accessibility, and censorship in the arts.

Participants can register for the festival at bit.ly/verge21 .The full schedule and more details on the festival are at https://globallab.georgetown.edu/projects/verge/
